A mildly annoyed post … But at least …

Well …

I’ve just popped a copy of the Karmic Koala disc over to an old friend, Paul, who’d been running Ubuntu Studio.

I’m just mildly annoyed He’d switched back over to using MS software!

It seems he’d had problems configuring Audacity.

I‘m annoyed, though, simply because he didn’t ask me — or Adrian, either, as far as I know — if there was anything we could do.

After all, we are both round the corner … !

Oh,well, cie la vie …

•••••

Oh, well, if nothing else, at least I managed to catch a couple of episodes of season three of The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Yes, I know, it’s a kid’s show.

And, granted, it’s a Doctor Who spinoff, but it’s not something I’d usually watch.

I wouldn’t’ve watch this, either, apart from one thing.

Simply the fact that this particular two-parter — The Wedding of Sarah Jane — had David Tennant turning up, as the Tenth Doctor.

Which was fun to watch; but not quite would I’d normally make the effort to.

It is aimed at kids, after all.

There’s one scene, where Luke, Clyde and Rani get to clamber inside the TARDIS.

Phew!

Now there’s a childhood dream … !

But towards the end of this episode, there’s a scene that sees Sarah turn to the Doctor, and say “Is this the last time I’m ever going to see you?”

The Doctor says, quite simply, “I don’t know”.

Just a touch of the on-coming darkness …

Given that The Waters of Mars is all set, to be broadcast at 7 pm, on the 15th, this is moving us forward.

To an ending …

pj....... who is paul??????????

he is obviousley not completely the full ticket ( no offence paul )

how can anyone go back to windoze after using umpefump................!

paul, u have got a very clever friend called pj and although i personally dont no him trevor too...

i am a windoze child, only ever known it and thought it was the only way a computer worked ( apart from apple ) untill i encountered a problem with my laptop which cost £350 18 mths ago. not the top of the range i know, but a well respected make none the less........
then i was out of warranty and about to put a big hammer through it untill pj said there was another option.

umpefump he said was a solution to my problem, "what the hell is that" was my reply. he tried to explain but being a pc bok it went in 1 ear and out the other. "bring it over and let me have a look" he said.

i arrived with a worthless piece of laptop that would not work at all, and an hour or so later left with a fully working laptop that was so easy to use i could not believe it.

i also had a few teething probs but........................................................... a call to pj or a little chat on facebook he found the answer to them all ( flash player was a bitch ) and it was sorted.
i upgraded to koala last night and although it looks similiar there is alot of stuff that is better and even easier to use.

i am now a umpefump convertee... and untill i can afford a mac will always be.

paul u have friends just ask if u need help im sure pj and trevor would of helped...

Paul’s another friend of mine; think you met him the other day; he was the chap feeding in the code, when we trying to alter way down deep stuff!

Trouble is, I can understand him getting a touch frustrated; Ubuntu Studio, the version he was using, is a bit hard-core!

Still annoying, though, when you consider the problem he had with a USB powered set of speakers was easily solved … by using the Jack plug leads!
