The Daily Teaser …

Phew!

Now THAT was something!

Having a good night’s sleep, I should add!

And it looks like there’ll be another one coming, as well: we’re still stocking out.

You wouldn’t think there’s that many copies of Family Guy in circulation.

Lets move on, shall we … ?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw both Trevor and Kaiju putting in their answers: and saw both scoring 5 out of 5, with Trevor quoting Erasmus and Kaiju getting his answers in first and telling us something of his schooling.

I’m also thinking he’s done well for himself, given the competition. (Did that sound cheesy, or was that me, chaps … ?)

Lets move on, shall we, and see how they — and you — do with today’s questions: here they are, along with the ‘How To’ and License.
Q1) 28th October, 1970, saw Gary Gabelich set the World land-speed record for a car powered by … what … ?

Q2) 28th October, 1927, saw the birth of which late English Jazz singer … ?

Q3) 28th October, 1886, saw President Glover Cleveland formally dedicate the Statue of Liberty, in New York Harbour: but on which island … ?

Q4) 28th October, 1980, saw the birth of Kanzi: to which chimp species does he belong … ?

Q5) And finally … 28th October, 1636 saw a vote by the Massachusetts Bay Colony establish the first college in what was later to become the USA: how is that college now known … ?
And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 27th October, 939AD, saw who succeed to the throne of England … ?

A1) Edmund 1st. (Or Eadmund, if you want in really old English.)

Q2) From one end of history to another: 27th October, 2004, saw which baseball team win the World Series for the first time in 86 years?
A2) The Boston Red Sox.

Q3) That team is owned by New England Sports Ventures, the US business that recently bought which Premier League English team … ?
A3) Liverpool.

Q4) 27th October, 1995, saw Bettino Craxi convicted — in absentia — on corruption charges: which Italian political office had he held … ?
A4) Prime Minister. (Politics, eh, Kaiju … ?)

Q5) The same day in 1995, saw which Baltic state apply for membership of the EU?
A5) Latvia.

Q6) And finally … 27th October, 1080, saw the death of Stephen Ross Porter, also known as Steve ‘Peregrin’ Took: with which band did he find fame … ?
A6) Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Enjoy those, everyone: I’ll catch you later.

Paul

I just had to use Bill Gate's quotations. Many of them are realy bad.

Cannot say I agree with many of them but they do show the lack of future foresign.

Especially the first one.
