The Daily Teaser — 16-1-2015

Another day, another dollar …

And another late night.

Another late night, happily working, I should add.

Saying that … ?

Saying that, I was glad to get home: get off, showered, and off my aching feet.

And in bed, with a good read.   I’ve a few more days before I have to get The Royal Assassin back to the library: I’d like to finish it, before I do.

So last night … ?   Last night, I was up a little than I should have been.

The Royal Assassin is worth the effort, I think.

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: and scoring ten out of ten.

Let’s see how she — and you — do with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) 16th January, 1970, saw Buckminster Fuller receive a Gold Medal: from the American Institute of Architects.   What kind of dome was Fuller’s best known creation?
Q2) 16th January, 2006, saw Ellen Johnson Sirleaf become Africa’s first female head of state: being elected President of where?

Q4) 16th January, 2001, saw President Bill Clinton award a posthumous Medal of Honour: to which former President?
Q5) 16th January, 1920, saw the first council meeting of the League Of Nations.   In which European city?
Q6) Finally … 16th January, 1969, saw the first docking of manned spacecraft: whilst in space.   The two craft were Soyuz capsules: from which nation?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 15th January saw the British Museum open to scholars.   In which year of the 1750s?

Q4) The Museum’s original collection was from Sir Hans who: Jones, Sloane, or Beckenbauer?

Q5) The ‘Old Royal Library’ was donated to the Museum.   By which king: George 2nd, 3rd or 4th?
Q6) The British Museum’s Natural History branch is in South Kensington: and shares Exhibition Road with two other famous museums.   Name either of them.

Q10) Finally … the Sutton Hoo Treasure is housed in the British Museum.   Which English county was it found in?
A10) Suffolk.
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“A celebrity now is someone who’s on the telly.”

Kate Moss, 16 January 1974.
And what is arguably, the show tune …

Have a good day!
