The Daily Teaser — 19-2-2015: The Chinese New Year

You know, I’m thinking, right now, that Jessica Hynes has done a job and a half!

For some time, now I’ve been watching her Up The Women, on BBC 2: and thoroughly enjoying it.

I’m also thinking of something else.

One of Britain’s most popular comedies?   Was Dad’s Army*: so popular, in fact, it’s been endless repeated since it’s cancellation, and being turned into a movie to be released next year.

Frankly … ?

Well, frankly, I’m finding Up The Women very reminiscent of Dad’s Army: the small group of characters, the church hall setting, the game set of characters taking on a hopeless situation …

Personally?   I can’t think of a better comparison for Hynes’ work.

Or a more flattering one.
