The Daily Teaser — 22-2-2015

You know, I do love a good documentary: really.

And Aunty Beeb does do a good one.

The one I’ve got on, at the mo … ?   Reginald D Hunter’s Songs Of The South … !

Kind of a potted history of the music of the southern: covering, in this first episode, the various country styles of Kentucky and Tennessee.

Fascinating insight into the music, AND the man himself, I should add: you can tell Reg really don’t do square-dancing.   As he’s just said, the black South and the white South were and are too different places!

Especially when we remember black-face minstrelry … !
