The Daily Teaser — 30-6-2015

Well, here we are, again …

I’m up, about … and having a day off.

And … ?

Well, I’ve lunch planned: with my sister and nephew.

And have more ripping on the go.

Frankly, I had Children of the Stones — the cult 1977 series with Gareth Thomas — delivered, yesterday.

Granted, it’s not worth very much.   At least on the resale market.

But speaking personally, the series was possibly one that I — and any others that saw it — won't forget.

Not the complex plot.   Not the setting: filmed in Avebury, in and around both the village, AND it’s stone circle.

And not the really scary aspect: the music.

You have to admit: THAT’S unnerving … !

The Daily Teaser — 29-6-2015

You know, I have to admit: I’ve got a few days off!

Frankly … ?

That means I can do a bit of … um … stuff …

I’ve borrowed a few DVDs, from a couple of friends: and I’m planning to get ripping, whilst writing more Teasers and doing house work.

Actually, I’m working on that, between paragraphs.

By indexing everything on a two disc special edition of The Aztecs.

Which is good.

But my WORD …

The job takes a while.

Personally?   It possibly means playing a tune or two* …

Humans — Episode 3: 28-6-2015

28th June, 2015.

You know, it’s really a quiet Sunday night.

Really.

Quite a perfect one, actually: especially when you consider I’ve spent some of it with my family: including my four year-old nephew, Jude.

Who can ask a zinger or two of a funny question, some times.

Some other time, maybe … !

At ANY rate … it’s a quiet Sunday night: when I’m not working.   One where I’d devote a lot of time to some socialising — possibly — and catching either a movie.

Or, in tonight’s case, the third episode of a TV series.

In this particular case, the third episode of Channel 4’s new science fiction drama, Humans.

It’s seriously good stuff …

~≈Ê≈~

The Daily Teaser — 28-6-2015: The Shot Heard Around The World …

Well, that’s THAT shift finished … !

You’ve probably realised I’v been working for the past six months: at a local fast food restaurant.

I’m happy about that.   Granted it’s not much of a job.

It’s part time, minimum wage and not one one stunning prospects.

On the upside?   On the upside, it pays on time, for dinner.   And my co-workers are a nice bunch.

Yesterday, though …

Yesterday’s shift was quite a long one: some ten and a half hours!

Frankly?

It was a thoroughly enjoyable ten and a half hour shift.

But, my word …

Didn’t I get a good night’s sleep!

~≈Ê≈~

Saturday 27 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 27-5-2015

Blimey, that was a mild shock …

You’ve probably realised I’m working, now: haven’t you … ?

As a cashier at a local fast food restaurant.

Last night … ?

I was happily working away — on a busy Friday — when an ex-girlfriend walked in with her date … !!

BIT of a shocker, there …

For both of us, I think.

Certainly for me: this was a relationship that was …

…

…

Yeah …

Like that … !

Like I say …

That was a mild shocker …

The Friday Question Set — 26-6-2015

Bloody HELL … !

It’s turning into Friday.

You’d guessed that.

It’s also turning into one hell of a Friday for France.

As I write?   As I write, there’s been some form of terrorist attack: on an industrial estate in Lyon.

Seemingly, whoever’s done this had tried blowing up several gas canisters at a gas factory.

It’s always tempting — at this stage — to ask why people do this.

But, frankly?

The chap concerned could probably give you tons.

I’m just thankful he was stop!

Vive la France … !

~≈fl≈~

The Daily Teaser — 26-6-2015

Good lord, Patrick Macnee’s died …

Now, I know he was getting on.

None of us are getting any younger, after all.

But still, I, like many others, grew up with re-runs of Macnee’s best known work, The Avengers.

So frankly?

Frankly, it’s sad to hear about it.

After all, icons are heard to lose …

The Daily Teaser — 25-6-2015

You know, I’ve been reconstructing the now lost TV series: that I’d had on a now gone external drive.

I DO know I’d managed to pick up the first seasons of the remake of House of Cards, and Sky Atlantic’s Penny Dreadful.

Something I’m going to have to sit down with, at some point … !

The reason I say that … ?   Is that — bar Humans — there’s very little on TV that’s catching my attention.

That and the loss of my external drive are possibly a good thing.

They mean I can go exploring …

~≈Ë≈~

Wednesday 24 June 2015

The Brentwood Gazette’s Weekly Teaser — 24-6-2015: Grand Lodgers.

You know, I’m thankful, I’ve got an iTunes Store account.

Really.

A few weeks ago, I managed to destroy an external hard drive: one with family photos on it: AND with all my backed-up TV box sets.

Bit of a git, that.

However, with help, I’m re-building the TV collection: if not the family photos.

Saying that, one or two bits are totally gone: including my copy of An Adventure in Time and Space, the dramatised version of the early days of Dr Who.

Frankly … ?   I downloaded it from the iTunes Store: and I’m currently re-watching it through my Apple TV.

And I have to admit: it still looks fantastic.

~≈Á≈~

The Daily Teaser — 24-6-2015

You know, I’m grateful to have borrowed the amount of DVDs I’ve borrowed.

Especially after the amount of TV series I’ve lost, in the Great Collapsing External Drive Disaster!

It’s going well, I should point out.

Especially as I’ve managed to source a few box sets, myself.

Right now … ?   Right now, I’ve got HandBrake series four of Torchwood: the flawed but wonderful, Miracle Day.

It’s lined up and stewing, as we speak.

I have to admit, though … The electricity’s slowly draining: not the the point of unaffordability, but it’s draining.

The other thing … ?

Is you don’t quite realise how much of that electricity turns into heat.

Right now … ?   Right now I’ve got a first generation Mac Pro, at full(ish) pelt.

And handily doubling up as a hairdryer … !

~≈®≈~

Tuesday 23 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 23-6-2015

DRAT!

I have to confess, I slept through my alarm … !

I hate sleeping through my alarm.

OK, granted, it’s a day when I’m working late.   Granted I wasn’t going to worry on that front.

But even so, it’s not something I like going … !

~≈Ÿ≈~

Monday 22 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 22-6-2015

You know, the older I get, the harder it gets to get some sleep.

No, really!   I think it took me a while to actually get off to sleep, last night.

I’m blaming Channel Four.   I think they’ve managed to play a blinder, in producing and airing Humans: but it had me up and blogging fairly late, last night!

Still … ?

Still, I’ve just managed to get the first cup of tea of the day down my neck.

Always good.

And I managed to get over to my mothers, last night: for the obligatory Sunday dinner.   Which was definitely good.

And got me spending time with my nephew, Jude.

I think the Downie family sense of humour’s definitely starting too show …

~≈Ê≈~

Sunday 21 June 2015

Humans — Episode 2: 21-6-2015

21st June, 2015.

You know, I really do like to catch a film, every now and again.

Really, I do.

But, with-in the past few months?

Well, within the past few months, I’ve started work.   And, while I’ve had the money to start renting movies more frequently?   And possibly catch a train to Romford’s cinema district to catch some?

I’ve had slightly less time to do so.

Certainly, less than I’d like.

Saying that … ?   When I have rented something, I’ve always tried to made a point, even now, of trying to tell you about what I’ve seen.

You’ve possibly noticed, haven’t you … ?

At ANY rate, in between working, writing Teasers, and lord knows whatever else, I’ve not had as much time to devote to watching a film or two.

Let alone writing about them.

However?

That’s not to say I’m going to give up on telling you about the films I’ve seen.   It’s just going to be a little less frequent than it’s been.

I’m hoping to supplement that by, instead, putting in some time, elsewhere.   So to speak.

You see, I’m like many people, I know.

I’ve got a TV.   You’d guessed that.

It shows TV programmes.   You’re not stupid: you’d realised that, too.

I think I’d like To add to my blogging horizons: on top of movies, Teasers, pub quizzes, and lord knows what else … ?

I’d like to add writing about genre TV, to Nik Nak’s Old Peculiar.

I’ve already made a start, with Dr Who, and Merlin.

I’d like to — however intermittently — add another to the mix.

I’d like to add something that actually started, last week: on the UK’s Channel 4.

It’s called Humans.

And … ?   I think I like it …

~≈‡≈~

The Daily Teaser — 21-6-2015: International Yoga Day

Well … I’m officially off for the day.

I’m actually staring at the fact I have the day off: on the Summer Solstice.

Frankly?

I’m planning to look in on an old friend: and return some videos.

Oh … and have dinner with my family: including my nephew, Jude.

They’ve all just got back from a week in Cornwall: and frankly … ?

I’ve not been there for years: and I’d like to hear how it went for everyone.

I’m also wondering one thing.

Did anyone buy me a stick of rock … ?

~≈Á≈~

Saturday 20 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 20-6-2015

Drat …

And …

Well, there’s several other terms I could be using, here.

But ‘drat’ is about the politest.

All this … ?   Is a result of finding out about my external drive.

It you recall, a couple of week ago, I managed to knock the thing onto the floor: seriously damaging it in the process.

I managed to get the drive out of the external caddy: and down to a local repair shop, in order to see what they could do for me.

£80, later … ?   Their opinion was that the drive was extremely dead.   And that it would cost me a further £300 — £300!!!!!!!!!! — to get the spare parts, and do any kind of repair work that would allow any chance of getting the family photos off the thing.

£300 I don’t have.

Nor do I expect to get hold off: unless I suddenly win the lottery.

As you can imagine, I’m not a happy bunny.   After all, for me, that’s about the same sort of cash I earn in a fortnight.

As you can possibly ALSO imagine … ?   That left me feeling extremely depressed.   Something only remedied by getting to work: which left me feeling a bit better about myself.   At least, turned my mood about.

As of RIGHT now … ?   I’m going to have to put any recovery from the drive on hold: until I can afford to.

Given how important those photos are to me?   I’m going to have to start saving up …

~≈Ê≈~

Friday 19 June 2015

The Friday Question Set — 19-6-2015

I think I can SAFELY say … I’m skint …

A couple of weeks ago, now, I’d knocked over an external hard drive.

A 1 terabyte capacity one: complete with every TV series I’d ever owned, AND every family photo.

Some 800 or so gigabytes of data.

I lost the lot.

The TV series and associated media … ?   Those aren’t two much of a problem to replace: not given the existence of Amazon, and CeX, shysters though they may be.

However?   In  trying to get the photos off, I took it to a local computer repair place, behind Brentwood High Street.

They charged me £80.   Only to tell me, one week later, that it was dead.   Which I knew.

And that serious data recovery — dismantle the drive and replace the parts data recovery — would cost £300.

Anyone wishing to help me, with cash?

Is welcome to hit the PayPal button in the sidebar.

~≈fl≈~

The Daily Teaser — 19-6-2015: Civil Rights

OK, it’s now Friday.

Which makes it’s payday, today.

And, having done slightly less hours … ?   I’ve got — obviously — slightly less pay.

Not that I’m complaining.   I’ve enough — with the financial help I get — to be going on with, and possibly do some online shopping.

After I’ve juggled the proverbial books!

There’s also a copy of Children of the Stones I wouldn’t mind buying.

The only downside to that, of course?   Is that I’ve still not managed to pick up the external drive I’d put in for data recovery.

I’ve already put down an £80 deposit for the work: lord knows how much more that’s going to cost.

First World problems, eh … ?

~≈‡≈~

Thursday 18 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 18-6-2015: SALT 2

Well …

That’s THAT delivery turned up … !

I don’t know about you, but — as and when I have the cash — I like doing a little online shopping.

I tend to use Amazon.   Despite my annoyance over the whole Amazon Prime incident — something I’m still annoyed about — they do tend to have a good range of goods available, and tend to deliver them when they saw they will.

I’d ordered a couple of DVDs, last week: expecting them to turn up, tomorrow.   But got despatched for delivery, Tuesday.

Of course, they turned up, ten minutes AFTER I went to work.

So Amazon re-scheduled them for delivery yesterday.

No problems there.   They turned up about 13:30.

All fine and groovy.

But, BOY … It’s frustrating, being stuck indoors all day … !

Cabin Fever doesn’t even start … !

~≈Ê≈~

Wednesday 17 June 2015

The Brentwood Gazette’s Weekly Teaser — 17th June, 2015: Mum’s Gone To Iceland.

I have to confess, I HATE getting cabin fever.

No, really … !

Unfortunately?

Unfortunately, I’m stuck indoors on a lovely summery day.

Get this … Waiting For Amazon to deliver!

You know, I REALLY think I should alter the safe place setting on my account.   I can’t stand be indoors: potentially all day, given the length of time I waited around for the last delivery.

It’s …

Well, I think the most appropriate word is ARRRGGGHHHHH … !

~≈‡≈~

The Daily Teaser — 17-6-2015

Oh, well, that’s worked …

Did I tell you that I have a TV that’s capable of recording a show to a USB flash memory stick?

Handy that.

Especially when you consider I can then convert the recordings to a format playable on either Android or iOS devices.

Basically, I can use vlc to convert those recordings into a form that I can THEN rip with Handbrake.

The problem I’ve come across, recently?   Is that, when ripped, recordings from two of Britain’s commercial terrestrial stations — Channel 4 and Channel 5 — come complete with the descriptive audio for the blind.

As you may or may not know, I’m not blind.   So find that … inconvenient.

Until I realised, last night, that I should be kicking myself.

As it’s something I can filter out at the ripping stage: by picking the appropriate audio options with Handbrake.

D’oh … !

~≈Ê≈~

Tuesday 16 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 16-6-2015

Hmmm …

Did I tell you that — occasionally — Channel Four occasionally grabs my attention … ?

They did: last Sunday.

By airing a new science fiction series called Humans.

Basically, it’s set in a (vaguely) parallel now: where humanity’s developed artificial life.   That does the housework.

I have to admit, I thoroughly enjoyed it.   Cast and crew are good — recovering Merlin fan that I am, I couldn’t help but notice Colin Morgan — the writing is excellent.

And an (seeming) attitude that says, “Let’s have a good look at technology’s good and bad side.”

I can’t see anything wrong with that: it’s kind of an old school way of writing SF.

Plus … ?   Gemma Chan as the unnerving family synth, Anita … ?   Is quite something to watch … !

~≈Á≈~

Monday 15 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 15-6-2015

Well, that’s something to be thankful for.

Friends who don’t mind loaning you their Dr Who collection.

I’m grateful to them, I know that.

The reason I’ve done that … ?

Is simply the fact that I managed to wreak an external drive I’d owned.

Losing everything on it in the process!

I’ve left it with a local computer repair shop: who, hopefully, will recover any photos.   But getting the huge chunk of TV series?

There’s a LOT of them!

The TV series?   Well, I’m blowed if I know what will happen: so I’m borrowing copies of Dr Who, and frantically using Handbrake to rip them.

I’m thankful for two things.

The speed my current computer can use Handbrake.

And the generosity of friends.

~≈€≈~

Sunday 14 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 14-6-2015

Thank God for that: I’m starting later, today … !

I don’t know about you, but I’m working, at the mo: even if it’s not the highest paid, or most exciting job.

It’s work: and I’m happy to have it.   It means I can pay data recovery, I know THAT much … !

There’s only one or two disadvantages, though.

Mostly … ?   The fact is, it’s shift work.

Which meant I finished late, and got up early to post here.

With — obviously — a nice, relaxing, six hours sleep.

Ye GODS …

I can safely say twanging eyeballs aren’t necessarily a good thing … !

~≈Ω≈~

Saturday 13 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 13-6-2015

Now, THAT’S what I call pricey … !

You’ve probably realised I like TV series, every-so-often.   And had stored — had — a lot of them, AND a lot of family photos.

I knocked it off the table, the other  day: and got the clicking sound — known as the click of death* — from the drive.

It was dead.

What I eventually did — after panicking, swearing and frantically looking for clues on the ’Net — was extract the drive: and check it in a spare drive bay on my Mac Pro.   I still got the clicking.

As that is — from what I can see — fatal, I’ve now taken the thing to a local computer repair shop: one that does data recovery.

They tell me it’s going to take about a week to get anything from the drive.

I’m hopeful they will.

About my only issue?

Is the eye watering price I’m paying for this.   Not something you want to see, when you’re on a budget!

~≈‡≈~

Friday 12 June 2015

The Friday Question Set — 12-6-2015

Oh …

That’s possibly a good thing.

For those of us of a certain age, we remember the TV show, The Clangers.

I know I certainly do.

The Soup Dragon scared the life out of me, I know that!

Well …

It would … when you’re three … !

~≈Ê≈~

The Daily Teaser — 12-6-2015: All The World’s A Globe …

Well, that was an entertaining Thursday …

Did I tell you I’d lost an external drive?   Complete with a LOT of backed up media: AND family photos.

Frustrating!   But I’m starting to reconstruct the TV collection: which will be tedious, and expensive.

The photos will be harder.   The fact is … ?   I’m going to a local computer repair shop.

One that’s charging an eye-watering amount of money for data recovery.

But?

But, I got the refund through from Amazon, on Tuesday just gone: and managed to get a 2 terabyte sized internal drive.   A drive I’d originally wanted, to store those lost photos and series.

Waiting for it, yesterday?   Much as I’d love to say it was fun, it wasn’t.   It was VERY frustrating.

Cabin Fever’ doesn’t even start to describe how I felt, by the time the delivery man turned up.

I’ve ALSO got enough spare cash to pay the fee the shop wants: or, at least, put down a LARGE deposit.

That means I can start on the slow process of reconstruction.

That’s going to be fun …

~≈Ì≈~

Thursday 11 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 11-6-2015: Down Under …

Well …

That’s something …

If you recall, I’d run into trouble with Amazon, when they took quite a BIT of money from my account: without my realising they would do so.

They’ve since refunded it: which has allowed me to buy the stuff I was going to buy in the first place: a week after it was going to get here.

I was expecting tomorrow.

But it looks like it’ll be turning up, today.

I hope so.   I’d like to start rebuilding my collection of TV shows and photos from the few online resources I have.

Which is going to take a while …

~≈Ò≈~

Wednesday 10 June 2015

The Brentwood Gazette’s Weekly Teaser — 10-6-2015: Nice Legs, Shame About the Boat Race

You know, in BETWEEN everything else … ?   In between getting bilked by Amazon, the loss of quite a LOT of data on a now junked external drive, and the intermittent mail theft in my area … ?

In BETWEEN all of that, I get spam … !

Like the one that caught my eye, while I was cleaning out my emails, earlier.   It claimed to be from the Royal Mail, and told me I needed to pick up a parcel.   From a given link.

The fact it was in my junk mail box, AND the postman usually sticks a card into my letterbox, anyway, told me everything I needed to know.

So I clicked the link, JUST out of curiosity.   Being VERY aware that I should be careful.

I got redirected to a page — the link in the URL bar was ‘things travel dot com/mobile’ — that said I should use a PC browser to access the page: rather than a Mac or mobile device.

Hmmm …

Can you do me a favour, if you’re reading this on a PC?

Make sure your email client’s junk mail filters are up to date!!

~≈†≈~

The Daily Teaser — 10-5-2015

Ye gods, but that’s SOMETHING …

I told you — yesterday — I’d dropped a terabyte capacity external drive: complete with some 800 gigabytes of media and family photos.

I’m …

Well, the word ‘unhappy’ is the one that sums it up best.

Or, at least, most politely.

At any rate, I’ve managed to find a local local computer repair place: one that’s happy to try getting what it can off the drive.

I’m thankful I’ve a little cash to at least put down a deposit, there.

Otherwise?   I’d DEFINITELY be onto a losing streak.

~≈∏≈~

Tuesday 9 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 9-6-2015: Les Paul

RIGHT at the moment … ?

Right at the moment, the word in my head is ‘BUGGER’!

I have an external drive: that I use to store my iPhoto library, AND my back-up TV shows.

Some 800 or so gigabytes of data.

To be strictly accurate?   I should say ‘HAD.’

I was planning to settle, last night, with the first two episodes of Penny Dreadful: something Sky’s been showing for a while, now, and been getting good reviews for.

Without thinking … ?   I moved my chair.   Which hit a stool.   Which knocked a door.   Which closed.   Hitting a printer on the table with my computer.   Which knocked the external drive.   Which landed on the floor.

After that?   After that, the ominous clicking sound from the drive — and it’s refusal to show up in the Finder — told what what it was knackered.   I extracted the drive from it’s container, and put in the spare bay of my Mac Pro.

It clicked ominously, and refused to mount.

What I’m HOPING’S happened is that falling off the table means the arm that moves across the platters of the hard drive has been damaged: and is easily repairable.

I don’t know that it is, though.

If it is, that’s all good.

If it isn’t, I’m not going to worry too much about losing the TV shows.   Those would be easy to replace.   Expensive and tedious, but easy.

The photos, on the other hand, including those of my nephew?   Are gone.

I’m not happy, understandably.

Especially when you consider the reason I was shopping on Amazon, last Friday — when I started having problems with Amazon Prime — was to buy a 2 terabyte internal drive, to replace this external drive.

I’m having a bad week.

BUGGER … !!

~≈Ÿ≈~

Monday 8 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 8-6-2015: World Oceans Day.

Oh … but I’ve got a day off … !

That’s a good thing.

The reason I’m up, comparatively early?   Is that I’ve got a doctor’s appointment, this morning.

Oh, nothing drastic!   I’ve an under-active thyroid: which I’m on medication for.   The appointment … ?

Is to follow up on the blood tests I recently had.

Here’s hoping they show nothing TOO serious happening … !

~≈fi≈~

Sunday 7 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 7-6-2015: Cricket, Lovely Cricket … !

Well, it’s Sunday: officially Sunday, I should say.

And … ?

Right at the moment, I’m up and about: and (mentally) preparing my self for work.

After finishing at 12:30, last night.

And … ?   Well, it has to be said, I’m feeling relatively non-tired.

How long that will last?

I really couldn’t tell you … !

~≈Â≈~

Saturday 6 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 6-6-2015

Ye GODS, but Amazon are sneaky bar-stewards … !

I’ll happily admit, they’re good at what they do: I’ve been using Amazon’s shopping site for a while, and — generally —don’t have a problem.

But at some point?   I’d signed up for a free trial of their Amazon Prime service.   It allows for free video streaming, music streaming … and for free deliveries of stuff you’ve ordered.

Which is why I’d signed up for the free trial.

But … ?   Well, yesterday, I tried ordering an internal hard-drive, along with a couple of other bits.   Only to find my card getting declined for a lack of funds.   Funds I’d believed were available.

It turns out they weren’t.   Amazon had automatically charged me £79 for a year’s subscription: without sending me a reminder email, or warning that the trial was over.

Now, from what I can tell, they do tell you, in the Terms and Conditions that they’ll do this.

But how many of us sit down and read those?

I’m … annoyed.   Yes, you’re right, I could well have read the terms and conditions.

But equally, Amazon could easily — oh so easily, I suspect, and much more preferably, from where I’m sitting — have sent out a reminder email: to tell me the trial was coming to an end, and asking if I’d like to continue using the service at such and such a price.

They didn’t.   I spent about half an hour, yesterday, phoning my bank to see what had happened: then then getting a refund from Amazon.

That’s due in within the next few days.

Now … annoyed?   Yes.   Angry?   Incredibly.   Frothing at the mouth?   You bet!

I could well have read the terms and conditions.   But in burying the explanation of what will happen in the terms and conditions, and in NOT sending a cancellation email?

In behaving like this, I believe Amazon* have indulged in the worst kind of sharp practise.   And would do themselves a huge favour, publicity-wise, in changing this practise.

Because I’m not the only one.

~≈Ê≈~

Friday 5 June 2015

The Friday Question Set — 5-6-2015

Right … That’s the bills paid …

And the online shopping done.

Now all I have to do is wait for the new internal drive to turn up: and I’m laughing!

Although I HOPE I’m in, when it does … !

The mailbox theft in the area is a touch worrying, there: as I’m sure anyone reading this week’s Brentwood Gazette will tell you.

Now I know some of the neighbours will complain about that story.

But agents for my landlords have been in the area, and tell me they’re getting quotes for communal postboxes.

Which is all good.

Until you realise how easy it is to break into my block of flats, WITHOUT a key.

I realise my landlords want to pay the lowest amount of money for the work done.

But mail will still get nicked!

~≈†≈~

The Daily Teaser — 5-6-2015

It’s got to said, I’ve got a day off!

A day off … on Pay Day … !

OK, OK, it’s Friday: again.   And we get paid weekly, in my job.

But, with the shifts I worked, last week and a gift from a relative in Kent, I’m …

Well, not comfortably off.

But certainly have enough to treat myself to an extra internal hard drive.   And possibly some DVDs, as well.

Well, you’ve got to have more (digital) shelf space … !

~≈Ê≈~

Thursday 4 June 2015

The Daily Teaser — 4-6-2015: Dunkirk

Drat!

I hate sleeping through my alarm, I REALLY do … !

ESPECIALLY on a day when I’ve volunteered to cover a co-worker’s shift.

Normally … ?   I’d really on the alarm on my phone.

It’s a lovely alarm.   Works every time.

Except … when I forget to charge my phone!

DRAT!

The Brentwood Gazette’s Weekly Teaser — 3-6-2015: Casey At The Bat

Well, the story’s officially run.

The Brentwood Gazette, Brentwood’s local paper, has run the story about the mailbox theft in the area.

I don’t know that the ever capable Joe Sturdy — the reporter behind the story — has god it quite right.

After all, he’s not mentioned the fact that some of my neighbours who feel closed circuit TV camera would be a fat lot of good.

But to be fair?

He DID mention that I’d said moving letterboxes would be good.

There’s also a comment from Royal Mail about lockable, private, letterboxes.

Hmmm …

How much good that will do, I don’t know.

I can only hope our landlords move letterboxes from outside the building, to INSIDE, would be good.

Here’s hoping …
