Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21st January, 2018.

Bleaugh …

I think I need more sleep!

Or, at least, I needed more sleep, yesterday.

I REALLY managed to lose my temper — twice — dealing with some awkward punters.

Not a good thing: especially if — as a result — your supervisor tells you to get out of the office, to get some fresh wire and calm down!

I think I managed that …

But, LORD, what a day … !

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Olga scoring five out of five, and Debbi scoring four.

Let’s how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) The 2017 Women’s March took place: on 21st January, 2017.   Whose inauguration as President were the marchers protesting against?
Q2) In one of the largest drug busts of the time, 21st January, 1995, saw the US Coast Guard seize five tons of what?
Q3) George Orwell died: on 21st January, 1950.   Of what?
Q4) The world’s first nuclear powered submarine was launched: on 21st January, 1954.   What was it called?
Q5) Finally … which European country declared itself a republic: on 21st January, 1925?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 20th January, 1841, saw UK forces occupy where: Hong Kong Island, Singapore or Macau?
A1) Hong Kong Island.
Q2) The Island has an area named after which Scottish city?
A2) Aberdeen.
Q3) One part of the island is known for its racecourse.   Which part?
A3) Happy Valley.
Q4) The underground railway system on the Island is run by the MTR.   What’s the name of the line that’s exclusive to the island?
A4) The Island Line.
Q5) Finally … the Island has road and rail connections to what: the Okinawa, the Kowloon Peninsular or Bahrain?
A5) The Kowloon Peninsular.
Here’s a distinctly fashionable thought …
“Zest is the secret of all beauty. There is no beauty that is attractive without zest.”
Christian Dior, 21 January 1905 – 24 October 1957.
And a tune from Baby Spice …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a nice day …

*        Yeah, I know what you mean, Olga: I’m usually quite shy about using these things, myself.   But know Debbi’s on-screen confidence has come along!   Either way?   I think a two camera set could have its uses … (I’d not mind seeing Philip K. Dick’s Electronic Dreams, myself: I might just have to wait for the box-set.   Hmmm … Am I the only one thinking Bladerunner, back in the day, did him a huge favour … ?)

†        Yeah, the newer ones are capable of 4k footage, aren’t they, Debbi … ?   That could well be useful: although, for now, 720’s good enough for me.   Mind you, something newer … ?   Could do something a lot bigger.   (Hmmm … Two camera setups … any thoughts … ?)

Q1) Donald Trump
Q2) Cocaine but it was 1999 (I guess it was a long and bad day yesterday)
Q3) Tuberculosis (a burst blood vessel in his lung caused a fatal hemorrhage it seems)
Q4) USS Nautilus
Q5) Albania
You're right about Debby. Personally, unless there is a reason why something requires a video (if it is easier to explain that way, for instance, or it is a visual thing) I prefer writing and reading. I can see the attraction of podcasts, as you can be doing something else, but you can't when you're watching a video. Oh well...
Ah, I'm travelling back to the UK tomorrow so I might miss the teaser...

I'm hearing echoing and feedback in your video. You could buy a cheap lav, maybe. I do that with the iPhone.
