Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 3-2-2017: The Day The Music Died

You know, I don’t get political, often.

Really …

But I have been keeping an eye on the situation in the US.

It strikes me Donald Trump isn’t a president.   He’s a diplomatic incident: especially given that phone call!

At any rate?

Mr Trump’s put together an economic advisory board.

The few technology members of that board?

Have received criticism for going anywhere near it.

As Trump’s ban on immigration from seven Muslim majority countries has affected much of the US technology industry.

One company head to receive criticism?   Is Travis Kalanick of Uber.

Who’s now stepped down.

Personally?

I can only  politely applaud Mr Kalanick.

I know Mr Trump means well.   And get the impression that he has a desire to move manufacturing jobs back to the US.

I can applaud that, too.

But, beyond the ethics of the ban, itself?

It seems it’s harming other portions of the US economy.

I have to wonder whether Mr Trump has thought his policies through.

I get the impression he hasn’t …

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Trevor† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Trevor scoring five out out five, and Debbi scoring four.

I’ll leave you with some reportage …
“Early reports from the scene suggest the aircraft spun out of control during a light snowstorm. Only the pilot’s body was found inside the wreckage as the performers were thrown clear on impact. ”
From This Day In Music for the 3rd February.
And this really big clue …

Have a good day.

*        I’ve done the same at work, Olga: it’s always awkward when it happens!   It’s when I forget to delete things that stuff gets embarrassing.   The amount of times I’ve left answers up is … well … I’m just thankful I’ve got out of THAT habit!   (Oh, just listening to the 75th Anniversary Desert Island Discs, Olga: David Beckham’s just confessed he could do the interview in Spanish, given a bit of warming up.   He’d do better than me!)

†        Boy, I’m thankful I had a look at those, Trevor!   I see the phrase, ‘old queens,’ lurking about, I get ALL sorts of ideas … !

‡        Sounds interesting, Debbie: I might JUST have to give it a look out!   I had a look at the Wikipedia entry, quickly, though.   And, seeing the phone of the town’s sign?   I though, “Hang on, have they been watching Twin Peaks … ?”
