More about Cars and Parking

Just thought I’d let everyone know about the recent batch of emails about the parking on my street; —  It seems that Councillor Holmes has set up a committee meeting on the 27th of January to deal with it, and has tabled a debate about it.   She seems to be seen to do something about it.   Which I can’t see our local councilor, Karen Chilvers, being the same about, as yet, although she was the first to email me back.

One thing is that Joan says she’s not too worried about local journalist, Piers Meyler being involved.   Is it me, or is a local politician NOT being worried about a journalist being on the story come over as worrying.   There’s an old quote from “V for Vendetta”’s central character about government’s being scared of their people, that seems very apt, here.

Personally, I’m all for involving the press, as soon as possible.   To be honest, Piers Meyler of the Gazette is already following the case, as I’d phoned him the other week, about the initial entry.   The one that highlighted the commuter that was parked over the road from my flat?
And to be fair to both sides, I’d want something from the Liberals, as well.   EVERYBODY is throwing all sorts of accusations, I think I’d want everybody to get a word in.   That’s if you don’t mind?

Just so you know, folks, I’ve blogged the recent batch of emails about the parking.   I know it may sound strange, but I personally think a little publicity can’t hurt.   I’m also thinking that, despite claims otherwise, there’s a bit of political footballing going on.   And possibly some very very cynical remarks worth making, but I’ll leave that to others.

This was an old photo which the gazette did a story on to attract peoples
attention to the development which we were opposing at the time.  As you can
see the gas works in the background.  We can get the gazette involved again
but I think a good time might be after the panel meeting so that we have
some news.  What do you think.

road and possibly
without regulation.  If they are without regulation then
they cannot be
policed and residents can park there.  I have a feeling
they were put down
so that the construction traffic could get through.  I will
come back to you
tomorrow with an answer and we will be doing a street
letter to let
residents know.

Brentwood, and, as have many of my neighbours, can't
help but deplore the
state of my road's on and off street parking.
