The Daily Teaser — 4-11-2013: Mr President

It has to be said, my nephew can’t half snore, for someone that small … !

Bless, I was over my Mum’s place, yesterday, for the usual Sunday dinner: and Ruth (Jude’s mother) and Jude himself, were in the car.

Bless him, he does manage to fall asleep.

And managed  to stay asleep, when we got him in.

Well … for about half an hour, anyway.

Which was something.   My left arm was going dead, under there … !

Hmmm …

Let’s get a move on, shall we?   Before I tell you about the rest of the evening* …

~≈Ê≈~

Yesterday’s Teaser saw both Debbi† and Kevin putting in their answers: along with Debbi telling us she’d got the email, and Kevin‡ having to pass answers through me, the day saw both of them scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how they — and you — do with today’s Presidential questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the ‘How To,’ license and video …

Q1) 4th November saw Barack Obama elected as the first African-American president of where … ?
Q2) In which year was this: 2004, 2008 or 2012?
Q3) Is he the 43rd, 44th or 45th President … ?
Q4) Who was his immediate predecessor in the office?
Q5) Which of President Obama’s predecessors was the first Roman Catholic to hold the office … ?
Q6) Which political party does President Obama represent … ?
Q7) What’s the name of the opposing party … ?
Q8) Who was the first person to hold this post: Thomas Jefferson, John Adams or George Washington … ?
Q9) As President, Mr Obama is also Commander in Chief of what … ?
Q10) Finally … President Obama represented which State, in his country’s Senate … ?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 3rd November saw the first Godzilla film released: in which Far Eastern country?
A1) Japan.
Q2) In which year of the 1950s … ?
A2) 1954.
Q3) Godzilla’s name in its native language — Gojira — is a portmanteau of that language’s word for ‘Gorilla’ and the word for what aquatic creature: whale, dolphin or octopus?
A3) Whale.
Q4) The original movie is what’s called a ‘kaiju’ movie.   Kaiju traslates into ‘strange … what’: flora, oil or creature … ?
A4) Creature.
Q5) Finally … The extinct Dakosaurus andiniensis was nicknamed Godzilla.   It’s an extinct relative of what: frogs, crocodiles, or Komodo dragons?
I’ll leave you with this thought from President Obama …
“But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope. For when we have faced down impossible odds; when we’ve been told we’re not ready, or that we shouldn’t try, or that we can’t, generations of Americans have responded with a simple creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes we can.”
Barack Obama.
And with possibly the only song one COULD use, when Mr Obama’s the focus of the day …

Have a good day …

*        Including Jude, at one point, declaring “I not fussy, I’m Jude … !”   Well, we thought it was funny …

†        Yeah, I’ve been going through my address book, Debbi, after getting hold of Thunderbird: I THINK I need to do more editing … !

‡         I THINK I’m on to a method for commenting via iOS devices, Kevin.

Ah, I see. I've had a fun day at NIH getting more needles stuck into me than a pin cushion! :)

Otherwise, I'm splendid. Thanks!
